About Willie Grimm
Willie Grimm is The Gathering Church’s founding lead pastor. Willie was called to church planting ministry in 2002 and been a part of leading out and establishing five churches during these last 16 years. He, his wife Carmen, and daughter Cora moved to Rochester in December 2012 so that, they can be rooted and develop true community and friendships.
Willie would say that he is not your typical “pastoral image”:
“I lived a pretty crazy life; so, there is not too much that surprises me about the junk we all have or have had in our lives. I know that when God grabbed my attention, He accepted me right where I was at. I would hope that when people meet me, or anyone here at The Gathering, they would feel this from the start. God doesn’t expect us to stay where we are at, though. He expects you and me to continually grow and change. No matter where we are at, we all need to grow. This puts us all on the same level, especially when you consider it all against a perfect and holy God.
The Gathering is a church that is committed to "growing healthy community through love, truth, humility and unity" in the reality of all of this. We are here to help and cheer one another along this journey of growing in faith in Jesus Christ and to multiply disciple-making leaders and churches committed to do the same.”
Since launching The Gathering in 2013, he has continued to work with the leadership of Calvary Evangelical Free Church and partnered to help launch Northlight Community Church in Byron, which began public worship March 18, 2018. Currently Willie is training church planters for the North Central District of the EFCA, as well, and helping a team launch Living Hope Community Church in Chatfield, MN Fall 2019. Willie would say, "We are just getting started!"
